Monthly world prices in current US dollars since 1960, per the World Bank (Pink Sheet): Brent and WTI crude, European and US natural gas, wheat, maize, rice, soybeans and oils, sugar, coffee, cocoa, bananas and chicken, urea and other fertilizers, gold, silver, nickel, copper, aluminum and iron ore, plus energy, food, grains, fertilizer and metals indices (2010 = 100). These are world market prices, not any country’s consumer prices, and are not adjusted for inflation.

Notices

Prices are nominal US dollars per the unit in each series (barrel, tonne, kg, troy ounce): never add different commodities, and deflate before comparing decades. Rows are world-level (geography Mundo), not any country. Some series start later (WTI 1982, sunflower oil 2002). Quotes can change market: urea is f.o.b. Black Sea until February 2022 and f.o.b. Middle East from March 2022, so do not read that month as one market (definitions in the Description sheet of the workbook). The World Bank revises recent months.
