How we calculated it

We query series gdp_growth_pct of dataset cepal-economia-anual (CEPALSTAT) for the 14 countries between 2022 and 2025 in VerDat's normalised layer; for each country reporting both years we compute the change between 2022 and 2025 and take the largest fall. We require at least 8 countries with both years and a change of at least 3 pp; the rank is by 2025 value among those 14 countries. The chart shows the country's series; the values and the change are re-verified automatically every day.

7 rows match the query; 7 results remain in the summary.

What it means and what it does not

The comparison is based on a single harmonised annual series at constant prices from ECLAC, which may differ from national official statistics. A three-year window captures movement between two points in time rather than a long-term trend. The change reflects variations only for the 14 countries reporting data in both years, without addressing underlying causes or predicting future performance.

Growth, inflation, debt and tax revenue are percentages; FDI is US dollars — filter to one indicator_key before aggregating.
