According to ECLAC data on central government debt as a percentage of GDP, Peru recorded 27.2% in 2025 compared to a regional median of 49.2%, ranking 13th among the 13 reporting countries.
In 2025, Colombian central government debt reached 64.4% of GDP compared to a regional median of 49.2%, ranking second among 13 countries reporting ECLAC data. This represents a 3.1 pp increase from the 61.3% recorded in 2024.
Central government data compiled by ECLAC shows a 1.6 percentage point decline compared to 2024. The last lower figure was recorded in 2015, when it reached 44.7%.
According to ECLAC central government data as a percentage of GDP, no value in the 36-year series exceeds 65.6%. The figure represents a 3.5 percentage point increase compared to 62.1% in 2024.
